Linda Ann Ahrends, 61, of Marietta, died peacefully at
home on Thursday, July 19, 2018, surrounded by family
and friends. Linda was the beloved daughter of the late
Stanley and Mary Ahrends, dear sister of James W.
Ahrends, loving mother of Heather E. Ahrends
(Christopher D. “Cree” Ware, Jr.), and devoted “MawMaw”
of Christopher D. Ware, III.

This kind and gentle soul had a heart of gold and will be
sorely missed by her devoted family and friends. Linda
was a proud graduate of Duke University and was the
ultimate Duke basketball fan....her enthusiasm for her
favorite team will be lovingly remembered by so many.
She was also a true dog lover who provided a home to
many dogs during her life, including Izzy and Tweeter, who
brought her great comfort during her final days.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 4,
2018, at 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, 128
North Church Street, Mountain City, TN. A service in
celebration of Linda’s life will follow at 2:00pm at the
church.

The family requests that donations in memory of Linda be
made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation,
3525 Piedmont Road N.E., Bldg.6, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA
30305.
