Anthony “Tony” Clark, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Nashville. He was born in Johnson City to Harlan Clark and Clara Joan Clark. Tony was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents: Rev. William B. McNabb and Carsie Burl Clark. Tony graduated from Greeneville High School in 1982. He graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Criminology and Law Enforcement and the University of Tennessee where he obtained his Law Degree. He passed the Bar exam and was licensed as an attorney in 1992. He was a former Law Clerk and Attorney at Richard Pectol and Associates. Tony began service with the District Attorney General’s office in 1994. He was elected as the District Attorney General for the First Judicial District in 2006. Tony was serving his second term at the time of his passing. He was a member of Marbleton Free Will Baptist Church in Unicoi. Tony was a devoted Christian man, loving husband, son, brother, uncle and true friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by the entire region. In addition his father, Harlan Clark and grandmother, Pansy McNabb, those left to cherish Tony’s memory include his loving wife, Janice Legg Clark, his sister, Angel Dixon, special nephews: Brandon and Tyler Dixon; special nieces: Stephanie Walters and Carly Mowery; father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Lois Legg, brother-in-law, Steve (Marcia) Legg, sisters-in-law: Lori (Jr.) Burchell, Chris (Carl) Mowery; countless friends and colleagues. Tony’s family requests the honor of your presence to gather and share memories on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Sunset Room of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Sam Ferguson officiating. A Graveside and Committal Service will follow at McInturff Cemetery in Unicoi. Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Dixon, Tyler Dixon, Stan Widener, Mark Hill, John Mosley, Frankie Rogers, Alan Bagley, and Greg Leake. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Lance, Ken Baldwin, Donald Bagley, and Tony’s many friends in law enforcement.
