Raymond P. Price

RAYMOND P. PRICE, age 82, of West Grove, PA, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Seasons Hospice. He was the husband of Velma Dean Price who passed away in 2005, and with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.   Born in Shouns, TN, he was the son of the late Filmore Price and the late Belle Johnson.   Mr. Price was a grower at South Mill Mushrooms in Kennett Square, PA, retiring in 2017, after 32 years of service.  He was a member of the Christian Life Center in New London, PA.   He served his country in the U.S. Army.   Mr. Price enjoyed gardening, watching nature shows on TV, country music, loved the outdoors, was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and enjoyed going to their games. He was a gentle soul and was totally devoted to his family.   He is survived by two sons, Chris Price and his wife Linda of Newark, DE and Ray Price of West Chester, PA; four daughters,  Brenda Haley of Oxford, PA, Nancy Walsh and her husband Thomas of Castle Rock, CO, Penny D’Ottavio and her husband Anthony of Kennett Square, PA, and Teresa Wilson and her husband Jerry of Lincoln University, PA; one brother, David D. Hartsoe of Hickory, NC; one sister, Jennie Lawson of Mountain City, TN; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.   He was predeceased by one sister, Bettie Moose.   You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening, January 18, 2018, and again from 10:00 to 11:00 on Friday morning, January 19, 2018 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA. His Funeral service will follow at 11:00. Burial will be in the New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Route 896, New London, PA.
