Boyd Wilson Lipford

Boyd W. Lipford, age 83, of 820 North Shady Street, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, October 3,2017 at the Mountain City Care Center. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents B.C. Lipford and Mae Jones Lipford. Two sisters: Faustean Sanders and Norma South and five brothers: Dagle Lipford, Raymond Lipford, Perry Lipford, Ralph Lipford and infant brother William Gary Lipford and Nephew: Allen Lipford. Boyd was the owner and operator of Boyd’s Repair Shop for several years. Boyd was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent. Boyd joined Mountain City Fire Department in 1981 where he has served as Assistant Chief since 1982. Boyd also loved old cars. Survivors include his brother: Buford Lipford, nephews: Dan Lipford, Jerry Lipford, and Jim Fink; nieces: Connie Payne, Sarah Davis, Carolyn Castle and Becky Vanderheide. Special friend and fellow fireman Johnny Roark. Also, several great and great-great Nieces and Nephews also survive. Visitation for Boyd Lipford will be conducted on Friday, October 6th, 2017 from 11A.M. until 1 P.M. Funeral Services will follow at 1 P.M. at the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Pastor Russ Poteet officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Members of the Mountain City Fire Department. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Bradley, James Lefler, Jack Cress and John Allen.
