Allan R. Lauber

January 31, 1925 — September 28, 2014

Beloved father, Allan R. Lauber, age 89, of Knoxville, TN and formerly of Mountain City, TN passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his daughter's residence following an extended illness. He was born January 31, 1925 to the late Carl E. Lauber and Lottie Hopkins Lauber Adams. He was the owner of Allan's Appliance Repair in Mountain City. Mr. Lauber was formerly a member of First Baptist Church but currently was a member of First United Methodist of Mountain City, TN. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. Allan enjoyed photography, traveling and especially enjoyed dancing with his wife. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Shirley Mast Lauber, in 1991; and two sons: Larry Lauber and Ray Lauber. Survivors include: devoted daughter: Monica Lauber of Knoxville, TN; sons: Gary Lauber of Salinas, CA and Edward Doty of San Francisco, CA; brother: Carl Lauber of Port Angeles, WA; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 from Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Don Bowery officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Following the funeral service, we will go in procession to Mount Lawn Cemetery in Boone, NC for the graveside service and interment with Military Honors Accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be "Coach" Harold Arnold, Joe Savery, Bob Stansberry,Jim Vincill, Roger Fenner, Roy Minton and Jerry Jordan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Johnson County Library, 219 North Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
