Allen Brian Cornett

Allen Brian Cornett, 55 of Hickory, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at his residence.

Born September 4, 1963 in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of Dallas James Cornett and
Lois Ellison Day.

Allen was of the Baptist faith.

Allen was an avid musician who played a variety of instruments. He also worked many years in the furniture industry with his family. In recent years, Allen was self-employed as an auto body specialist and mechanic.

Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ellison Day and two brothers, James Merrill Cornett, and Richard Keith Cornett.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Dallas and Mamie Cornett of Granite Falls; his two children; Alleson Cornett and Evan Cornett of Granite Falls, NC; five brothers; Dwayne Cornett and Dallas Cornett of Hickory, NC; Daryl Cornett of Granite Falls, Dewey Day of Atlantic Beach, Florida; Kevin Cornett of Hudson, NC; four sisters; Angie Cornett of Hickory, NC; Wanda Cornett Merritt of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Teresa Day Cannon of Morganton, NC; Jamie Cornett Barnes of Hudson, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Travis, Troy, and Brandon Cornett; Eric Maynard, Heath Cornett, and Tyler Broadbent.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Granite Falls, NC. Pastor Gordon West will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.

A private burial will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.
