Alta Hutchinson

Alta Hutchinson, age 80, of 420 Griffin Hollow Road, Shady Valley, Tennessee passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Clyde B. Hutchinson and Ada Sarah Blevins Hutchinson. Alta was retired from the U.S. Army having served during the Korean and Vietnam eras. She was a member of God’s Country Church and she loved farming. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Grover Hutchinson, Verlin Hutchinson, Durphy Hutchinson, Glen Hutchinson and Clarence Hutchinson.

 

Survivors include: one sister: Izetta Garland and husband Fred of Shady Valley, Tennessee; one brother: C. B. Hutchinson and wife Ruth of San Leandro, California; seventeen nieces and nephews; and her special friends: her two dogs, Polly and Susie Cue.

 

A military graveside service accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 from Blevins Cemetery in Shady Valley, Tennessee with Mr. Jim Hutchinson and Mr. Ron Manuel officiating. Pallbearers will be Shannon Dodgion, Gerald Dodgion, Robert Dodgion, Bob Dodgion, Cody Grindstaff and Leon Steagall.

 

At other times friends may call at the residence of Lawanda Holman and Gerald Dodgion, 201 Cretsinger Road, Shady Valley, Tennessee.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
