Annie Ruth Main

Annie Main, age 88 of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away June 1, 2025 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born February 11, 1938 to the late Tivis Pridemore and Lettie Baumgardner.  She was preceded in death by her late husband, Carson Main of 72 years; nine brothers and sisters and grandchildren, Joshua Dillard, Johnny Blevins and Gary Lipford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Betty Woods (Robert), Brenda Blevins (Ralph), Lena, Lora, and Kelly Shepherd (Michael); son, Gary Main and Allen Main; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special friends, Roy "McGetty" Greer, Doug Phillips, Tracy Shepherd and the late Randolph "Dockie" Dugger Jr.

Annie attended Crandull Church of Christ and had a great faith throughout her life.  She spent her younger years working in bean and tobacco fields.  She was a very strong-willed, devoted mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to her wind chimes, watching humming birds, working jigsaw puzzles, doing search-a-words and working in her wood.

A funeral service for Annie will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Junior Gobble and Gary Hammer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  A graveside service will follow in the Billy Hill Cemetery.  At other times friends and family may visit the home of her daughter, Kelly, at 716 Griffin Hollow Road, Shady Valley, TN.

Pallbearers will be Michael Shepherd, Brandon Main, Brandon Lunceford, Ralph Blevins, Jessica Dillard and Sasha Main.

Honorary pallbearers are McGetty Greer, Doug Phillips, Tracy Shepherd, Randall Dugger, Tony Blevins and Dustin Viers.
