Anthony "Tony" Bowman

Obituary for: Anthony "Tony" Eugene Bowman Anthony "Tony" Eugene Bowman, age 62, of 2900 Newton Street, Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Bowman and Lucille Jeskiqutz Bowman. Tony was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Johnson City, Tennessee and a United States Marine Veteran and a Disabled American Veteran since 1970, having served in Vietnam as a point in recon, also as a medic. Corporal Bowman graduated Naval Scuba Training in the Phillipines. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed martial arts, music, singing in church choirs,reading and computers. Survivors include: his wife, Debbie Lunceford Bowman, of the home; son, Anthony "LT" Bowman also of the home. Three daughters, Rebecca Bowman Hopson, Elizabethton, Tennessee, Angela Romero, Tucson, Arizona, Rachel Bowman, Piney Flats, Tennessee. Sister Cindy Slade, brother Tim Berry, two grandchildren Ethan Tolley and Matthew Romero,and a special niece Flo Dowell and nephew Benji Reece, Mountain City, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive. Special friend Otto Zinser,Pastor Jim Nipper,Ross and Trudy Blackmer. Funeral services for Tony Bowman will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013 from Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Johnson City, Tennessee with Pastor Jim Nipper officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Military graveside services will follow the funeral service at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tennessee accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Benji Reece, Kris Hopson, Shane Tolley, Chris Farrow, Avery Brown, and Freddie Lunceford. Honorary pallbearers are all caregivers at Johnson City Medical Center and Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, Tennessee.
