He was born on April 22, 1942 in Clayton, North Carolina to the late Archie Perry Pollard Sr. and Levie Hall. In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Saunders Pollard, who passed away in January, 2004 and one son, Robert Pollard. He was a United States Army Veteran. Archie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his five grandchildren. Archie is survived by three sons: Sam Pollard of Gloucester, Virginia, Michael Pollard of King and Queen, Virginia and Allen Pollard of Trade, Tennessee; four sisters: Josephine Welch of Florida, Sally McLamb of North Carolina, Hildred Holt of North Carolina and Violet Glover of North Carolina; four brothers: Thomas Revelle of Missouri, Floyd Pollard, Nelson Pollard and Benny Pollard, all of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Casey, Meghan, Amada, A.J. and Hailey Pollard and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Archie Perry Pollard Jr. will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Branch to officiate. Entombment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence of a son, Allen Pollard, 9071 Hwy 421 South, Trade, Tennessee 37691.
