Arlie Lee Michael, age 79, of 11901 Lakewood Drive, Hudson, Florida and formerly a native of Johnson County, Tennessee passed away at Marliere Care Center in Florida on Wednesday March 22, 2012. He was born in West Jefferson, North Carolina to the late Robert V. Michael and Pearl Black Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Doris Michael in June 2011. Mr. Michael served in the United States Army, 24th Infantry during the Korean Conflict. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star awards. He was a retired truck driver for General Motors. He was a member of The Solomon Masonic Lodge No. 36 A.F and AM and York Rite Shriner. He is survived by his children: June L. McDermott, Judith E. Salch, Robert A. Michael, Thomas F. Michael, Andrea M. Michael and Angela M. Bodkin. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. One sister, Danford Garr of Avondale, Pennsylvania. Funeral services for Arlie Michael will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Stidham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Military graveside services will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. For additional information you may call our recorded obituary line at 423-727-6842.
