Avery Harold Miller, age 86, of 125 Henson Avenue, Piney Flats, TN passed away Saturday November 27, 2004 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Johnson County and was born April 2, 1918 to the late George Hamilton and Clara Blevins Miller. He was a retired carpenter and former owner and operator of Shady Valley Grocery. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served in World War II and was a long time Deacon and member of the Shady Valley Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace L. Miller of the home, a son: Roger Miller of Piney Flats and two daughters: Jewell Morgan of Hilton, New York and Edith Crumley of Piney Flats, One sister: Izetta Triplett of Bluff City, One brother: Aster Miller of Huntsville, Ala. Four Grandchildren: Mark and Matthew Aberi of New York, Kate Ross and Amy Leonard of Piney Flats. Five: great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survived. Funeral services will be held 7:00 P. M. Monday from the chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Peake to officiate. Burial and Graveside services will be held 11:00 A. M. Tuesday from the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mark Aberi, Matthew Aberi, Scott Leonard, Jimmy Miller, Howard Miller and Erby Howard. The family will receive Friends from 6 until 7 P. M. Monday at the Henson Funeral Home. Other times friends may call at the residence 125 Henson Avenue, Piney Flats, TN.
