Avis Polly Price

Avis Polly Roush Price, age 57, of Doe Valley, Tennessee, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 5, 2019.  Avis was born on February 20, 1962, to Marvin Roush and Arzella Jones Roush in Delaware.  Avis is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Roush and two daughters, Shena and Amanda Price.

Avis was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Bobby Price, for 41 years.  Avis worked many jobs over the years, working at Burlington, Levi’s, and most recently, Johnson County Community Hospital.  Avis was a member of Mountain View Independent Methodist Church.  Avis had a love of crafting, but enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, more than anything.

Those left to cherish Avis’s memory are her mother Arzella Roush, husband Bobby Price, children Rebecca Brown and Ryan and Joshua Price and wife D-Anna, sisters Kathy Roark, Rita Payne, and Roberta Pennington, brothers William, Marvin ‘Junior’, and Robert Roush, 6 wonderful grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her very special friends Ruby Woodard and Christine ‘Chris’ Dempsey.

A Memorial Service for Avis will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 9, 2019, in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home in Mountain City, TN.  Jim Henson and Tommy Stevens will officiate the service.  The family will receive friends from 12pm – 1pm prior to the service.
