Barbara Ann Gentry

Barbara Ann Gentry, age 66, of 555 Gentry Cemetery Road, Laurel Bloomery, TN passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 in Mountain City Care Center. She was born March 21, 1946 to the late Chelsie A. Gentry and Eva Buja Gentry. She was a member of St. Anthony's in Mountain City, TN. Barbara was a graduate of Johnson County High School Class of 1963 and she loved cooking and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert C. Gentry. Survivors include: one daughter: Sylvia Hazelwood and husband Chris of Hampton, TN; one nephew: Nickie Gentry of Laurel Bloomery, TN; three nieces: Kathy McCulloch and husband Robbie of Mountain City, TN; Patty Trivette and husband Darrell of Laurel Bloomery, TN and Michelle Atwood and husband Mike of Mountain City, TN; a special sister-in-law: Ruby Gentry of Laurel Bloomery, TN and several great nieces and nephews. A funeral mass for Barbara Ann Gentry will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 from the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Father Dennis Kress officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Shine and Dr. Alainya Hare. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 301 Louis Street, Kingsport, TN 37660 or Karing Hearts Foundation, P.O. Box 6165, Johnson City, Tennessee 37602. At the request of the family, arrangements for Barbara Ann Gentry are in the care of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
