Barbara Greer Grindstaff

December 5, 1934 — May 22, 2025

Barbara Greer Gindstaff, a woman of quiet strength, enduring love, and creative spirit, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on September 5, 1934 in Mountain City, Tennessee, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Walker Fred Greer and Annis McQueen Greer. One of nine children, she grew up cherishing the values of faith, family, and resilience that would shape her life's journey.

On August 2, 1952, she married the love of her life, Paul Truitt Grindstaff. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion and purpose. In 1958, they made Belle Glade, Florida their home, which is where they raised their three children and became part of a close-knit community.

Barbara was a devoted wife and nurturing mother, and later found her calling in floral design. For three decades, she worked as a florist in Belle Glade, using her gifted hands and artistic eye to bring beauty into the lives of others. Her arrangements were more than flowers-they were expressions of care and joy.

Upon retirement in 1997, Barbara and Paul relocated to Okeechobee, Florida. There, she continued to embrace the quiet pleasures she loved most: sewing, tending to her home, and cherishing time with family. Her legacy is one of grace, creativity, and enduring love.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Vickie (Jim) McMullen of Okeechobee and her son Michael (Christa) Grindstaff of Winter Park. She was a proud grandmother of five, Amanda (Jason) Bedsole, Hillary (Rusty) Hyslope, Cassidy ( Collins) Brown, Graham (Tiffany) Grindstaff and Lane (Fiance Morgan) Collins. She was a great-grandmother of nine, Cameron Bedsole, Konnor, Kaleb (Fiance Nicole), Kyler, Korbin Hyslope, Lily, Forrest Brown, And Landon, Leighton Grindstaff. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Jack Grindstaff; brother-in-law Bill (Carolyn) Grindstaff; sisters-in-law Sallie Greer and Virginia Greer; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Barbara will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, Tennessee with Tom Reece officiating, where she will be reunited with her cherished husband, Paul Truitt Grindstaff, and her beloved daughter, Stacey Collins.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Barbara's name-a fitting tribute to a woman whose generosity quietly touched so many.
