Barbara Stanley, Grindstaff age 56, of 518 Doeville Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 6th 2004 at her residence following a extended illness. She was born November 25h 1947, in Johnson County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Dewey Austin Church and Ollie Mae Proffitt Church and was preceded in death by her brothers: Monroe, Hobert, and Ernest Church and also a sister, Joann Matheson. Barbara was the former owner and operator of Barb's Valley View Caf, and was a member of the Dyson Grove Baptist Church Survivors: 2 Daughters: Annette Marshall, Johnson City, Tennessee. Amy Roark, and Husband, Steve, Mountain City, Tennessee. Son: Tim Stanley, Mountain City, Tennessee. 2 Sisters: Wilma Sue Howard, Concord, N.C. Mary Gladys Corum, AZ.. 2 Brothers: Lester Church, Mountain City, Tennessee. Mike Church, Mountain City, Tennessee. 4 Grandchildren: Ashley Reece, Devin Reece, TaNeja Roark, and Elijah Roark. Special Friends: Bert Stanley, Mountain City, Tennessee. Flo Bellamy, Mountain City, Tennessee. Margie Lunceford, Mountain City, Tennessee. Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for; Barbara Jean Stanley Grindstaff , will be conducted on Sunday, March 7th, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. from the Hux - Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Fletcher and Rev. Chad Corum to officiate. The Family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. prior to services in the Chapel. Committal Services will be held Monday at 11 A.M. in the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Randy Corum, Darrell Corum, Danny Church, Scotty Church, Tony Horne, and Jamie Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Howard, Robert Matheson, Dr. Raina Sluder, Jimmy Lowe, and Erick Lowe.
