Barbara A. Owens

We are saddened to announce the passing of Barbara A. Owens, age 87, on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Lillian J Beverly; her daughter, Phyllis Ashley and her son, Thomas (Tommy) Owens.

Barbara was a mother, sister aunt, friend, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.  She loved to cook for her family and friends.  She also loved traveling and NASCAR racing.  Barbara was of the Baptist faith and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Robert Dale Owens and wife Brenda, grandchildren, Joe Owens, Crystal Owens, Elena Owens (Chris Mahala) all of Mountain City, And Rodney Ashley (Erin) of Springfield, OH.  Great Grandchildren,
Chelsie Owens, Brianna Capps, Noah, Levi, and Aiden Ashley, and one great great grandson, Jeffrey (JT) Tester.  Special friends Norma and Terry Reid, Joy Boggs, and Earl and Vickie Price.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service for Barbara will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in the Buford Lipford Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Billy Morefield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.  A graveside service will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joe Owens, Rodney Ashley, Chris Mahala, Lucas Coffey, James Brown, and Jamie Gilley.

Honorary pallbearers are Noah Ashely, Levi Ashley, Aiden Ashley, Jerry Vanover, Jerry Greer, Terry Reid, and Logan Gilley.

The family wishes to extend our appreciation to The Johnson County EMS and Amedisys Hospice.
