Barbara E. Reece

Barbara E. Reece, age 63, of 286 Ackerson Creek Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2006, at the Watauga Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, she was born May 29, 1942 to the late Roy and Mary Belle Winters Riddle. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edna May Jenkins. She was a member of the Ackerson Creek Church of Christ and loved spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd D. Reece, Sr., of the home; six sons: J.R. Reece and Denise, of Mountain City; Landon Reece, Lenoir, NC; Archie Reece and James Reece, of Mountain City; Ronnie Reece and wife Angela, Trade, TN; Donnie Reece and Amy, Mountain City; one sister, Karen Riddle Bell and husband Gary, of Iowa; one brother, Vincent Roy Riddle and wife Deane, of Mountain City; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Barbara E. Reece will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9th, 2006 from the chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Herman Trivette and Mr. Clayton Winters to officiate. Graveside Services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10th, from the Acre Field Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mack Swift, James Brown, Carl Stanley, Delmar Stanley, Jay Trivette, and Larry Canter. Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Staff of the Watauga Medical Center's 3rd West Wing, the Intensive Care Unit Staff, Dr. Murphey, and Dr. Daughtridge. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to services at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of J.R. and Denise Reece, 1016 Chestnut Drive, Mountain City, at anytime.
