Barbara Warren Wilson, age 74, formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the home of her son in Newark, Delaware. She was born September 12, 1939 to the late Edgar Warren and Ruth Tester Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel E. Wilson in 2011; a grandson Christopher Wilson in 1998 and an sister Rosa Lee Warren. She was a homemaker, music teacher, choir director, loved gardening, worked with Hale Ministries and Disaster Relief Association and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include: Two sons, David Wilson and wife Tanya and Douglas Wilson and wife Mary Kay both of Newark, Delaware; grandchildren Tyler Wilson,Englewood, Florida, D. J. Wilson of Newark, Delaware, Morgan Wilson, Newark, Delaware, Karen Wilson, Tampa, Florida and Caitlin Wilson, Mountain City, Tennessee. One sister, Alma Hackney and husband Gene, Mountain City, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Barbara Wilson will be conducted Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Norman to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be D. J. Wilson, Melvin Humphrey, Mark Ward, Billy Ward, Steven Hackney, Aaron Osborne and Keith Mullen. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Warren, Jack Ward, Tony Griffith, Howard Morefeld and Jack Warren.
