Betty Jane Greer

Betty Jane Greer, age 54, of 305 L. Snyder Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at her residence following a brief illness. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, she was born on July 7, 1950 to Ida Howard Greer and the late Glenn J. Greer. In addition to her father, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Garry Edwin Kidd, who passed away in 2001. She was a former employee of Levi Strauss, where she was employed for 28 years. Betty loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Kidd and Angela of Lenoir, North Carolina and Gary Eugene Kidd and Nadine of Mountain City, Tn; two sisters, Polly McQueen (Danny) of Shady Valley, Tn and Linda Price (Bill) of Mountain City, Tn; four brothers, Paul Greer (Tina); Jim Greer (Betty), D.G. Greer (Cassie), all of Mountain City, Tn and Lloyd Greer (Carolyn) of Elizabethton, Tn and three grandchildren, Ashley Wood of Mountain City, Tn, Makayla Holman and Nicholas Kidd, both of Lenoir, North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Campbell to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Clint Howard. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Danny Greer, Jamie Greer, Jeff Greer, Kenny Greer, Timmy Greer, James "Punk" May, Shawn Price and Barnie Westphal. Honorary Pallbearers are: Pam Bunting, Kim Courtner, Nancy Wills and Members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad. The Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 305 L.
