Betty Grace Hague Short, age 48, of 808 Waddell Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2004 at her residence. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, she was born January 31, 1956 to the late John Ross and Opal Owens Hague. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Charles Hague and sister Mary Alice Hague. She was a recent graduate of Northeast State Community College. Betty had a passion for art, deep love for children and loved the outdoors. Betty is survived by two sons, William Ross "Billy" Short and Michael Thomas "Tommy" Short, both of the home; two brothers, Albert Hague, Mountain City and John Hague, Le Mesa, New Mexico. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and loyal friends also survive. Funeral Services for Betty will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Manuel to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004 from the Cornett Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Tommy Owens, Billy Short, Albert Hague, Cary Smith, Bill Taylor and Larry Dunn. Honorary Pallbearers are: George Owens, Herbert Owens, Charlie Owens, Murphy Owens and all of her friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Funeral Home, prior to services. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
