Betty Ann Horne, age 70 of 2549 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Mountain City, Tennessee on May 20, 1935 to the late Paul S. and Beulah Walker Neatherly. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers: Billy and Roger Neatherly and one sister, Jana Lee Salmons. She was a former employee of Blue Ridge Shoes/Timberland and a house sitter. Betty was a member and pianist at Locust Gap Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching music to others and photography. Betty is survived by her husband, Charlie Horne of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Tolbert; two sisters: Norma Jean Church and husband Dan of Vilas, North Carolina and Barbara Reedy and husband Kyle of Bristol, Tennessee; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral Services for Betty Ann Horne will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005 from the Locust Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Lewis and Rev. Shannon Courtner to officiate. Music will be under the direction Mr. Eddie Shelton and the Locust Gap Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Services and Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 from the Locust Gap (Gambill-Springs) Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: James Brewer, Danny Church, Connie Eggers, Tom Horne, Mike Trivette, Ed Walker and Jeff Wilcox. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jerry Forrester, Terry Matheson, John Neatherly, Dean Stout, Eric Trivette and Dr. Kimbro and Staff. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble by 10:45 a.m. at the Church to leave in procession to the Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to Services at the Church. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Dorothy Matheson, 1594 Stout Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Locust Gap Baptist Church, c/o Ted Lewis, 631 Liberty Church Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
