Betty Paris Matheson, age 75, of 4383 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, Tenn. Passed away, Saturday, June 14, 2003, in the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a Native Of Mansfield, Louisiana and was born November 1, l927 to the late Charles LaVerne and Sybil Dick Paris. She was preceded in death by Barton H. Matheson Sr. She graduated from Mansfield High School And attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a Member of the V. F. W. Women's Auxiliary and for a number of years been on the regional Library Board. She was a Secretary for both Production Credit Association and the Soil Conservation Services, yet had been retired for several years. She also attended Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors: (1) Son and Daughter-in-Law: Barton "Barry" H., Jr. and Marcia Matheson , of Hartwood, Virginia (2) Sisters: Sara Maggio, Bossier City, Louisiana Gloria Cosmea, San Antonio, Texas (2) Grandchildren: Whitney Matheson, Chicago, Illinois Hunter Matheson, Fredericksburg, Va. Several Nieces and Nephews also survived Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Betty Paris Matheson, age 75, of 4383 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City will be Held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Lewis To officiate. Pallbearers will be James Brewer, Rick May, Dan Waggie and Larry Mink. Honorary Pallbearers are the Men of the Locust Gap Baptist Freewill Church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Pallbearers: The family will receive Friends from 1:00 P. M. till 2:00 P. M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call at the Residence, 4383 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, Tenn at anytime. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
