Ms. Beulah Bishop Harper, age 91, of 1190 Swift Hollow Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Lennie Lewis. Ms. Harper was a member of Dewey Christian Church and the Ladies’ Aid. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and gardening. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Richard Bishop and Frank Harper; and a son, William Howard Bishop.

 

Survivors include:  John Bishop and wife Sherry Banner Bishop of Statesville, NC; daughter-in-law Neva Faye Bishop of Port Orange, FL; stepdaughters: Virginia Morefield and Helen Harper, both of Mountain City, TN; and stepson, James Harper of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Marie Davis of Mountain City, TN; Wanda Campbell and husband Paul of Raleigh, NC; Ruth White, and Betty Campbell, both of Elizabethton, TN; brother: Hoover Lewis of Elizabethton, TN; four grandchildren: Jennifer Kirkland of Statesville, NC; Richard Bishop of Toronto Canada, Penny Bishop and Tammy Bishop, both of Port Orange, FL. Four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends also survive.

 

Funeral services for Beulah Bishop Harper will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 from the East Side Memory Chapel of Hux~Lipford~Teague Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson and Rev. Steven Spencer officiating. Music will be provided by Nancy Davis and Fred Ramsey. Graveside service and interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dewey Christian Church, %Bud Gentry, 977 Harbin Hill, Mountain City, TN 37683; Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683; or First Christian Church, %Dwayne Dickson, 104 Shouns Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
