Billy D Lipford

Billy Dean Lipford, age 84, of Mountain City, TN passed away at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, Oct 31st, 2023 surrounded by his family.

He was born August 25, 1939 in Mountain City, a son to the late Esteel and Nellie Lipford. On Feb 8, 1965 he married Margaret (Norris) Lipford, she survives.

Billy was a great friend, known and loved by many. He was always the first one to lend a helping hand and offer a warm smile. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family will be deeply missed. His family will be left with a lifetime of lessons, laughter and love.

Survivors include his wife Margaret Lipford of Mountain City; two sisters: Carlene (Lynn) Courtner and Mary Dunn; two children: Lisa Lipford and Robin (Steve) Meredith both of Mountain City; 4 grandchildren: Cody (Logan) Meredith, Candace (Thornton) Vaughn, Stephen (Hannah) Meredith and Emily (Duncan) Smith; three great-grandchildren: Taiden Vaughn and Miya and Ada Meredith; and one expected great-grandchild on November 12, 2023 Amelia Maragaret Deana Corrine Vaughn, to honor her great grandfather and special friends, Keith Wilson and Lynn Courtner.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Harold, Coy and Blaine; and sisters: Lucille Johnson and Jessie Caldwell

The family will receive friends from 12 - 1:45 on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the Charles B Hux Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home. We will then go in procession to the Sunset Memorial Park for graveside service with Harvey White officiating.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Meredith, Lynn Courtner, Shane Hightower, Dave Hightower, Warren Lipford, Kenneth Lipford and Dylan Nichols.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Whitmer, Keith Wilson, Steve Meredith, Thomas Vaughn, Thorton Vaughn and Cody Meredith.
