Billy Blake May, age 25, of 3933 Highway 421 South, apt 32, Mountain City went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Johnson County, he was a son of Bill May and wife Carol of Mountain City and Debbie Shupe Stanley and husband Roger of Mountain City and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ted May. He attended Tilleman High School in Paducah, KY and was a former employee of H. T. Hackney in Paducah, worked on a barge in Kentucky and currently had been working with Shull's Produce in Mountain City. Billy was a member of the Believers Family Worship Center, loved to arrow hunt and fish. Surviving are his wife, Ruthie Mains May, of the home; a daughter, Makayla May; grandparents: Sue Shupe of Mountain City, Dennis Shupe and wife, Ladone of Paducah, KY and Nell May of Neva; sister, Kim Phillippi and husband, Rob of Mountain City, two step sisters: Natasha Stanley and Tamara Stanley, both of Mountain City; a brother, Warren May of Mountain City and a nephew, Blake Phillippi. Special friends: Jason Bryant, Jeremy Tester and a number of other friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p. m. Saturday, August 14, 2004 from Henson Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Williams, Pastor Russell Ward and Rev. Ray Slemp to officiate. Burial will follow in the May Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Jerry Wilson, Kenny Lee Mains, Timmy Mains, Ben May, Rob Phillippi and Kenny Mains. Honorary pallbearers will be: Danny Furches and B. J. Porter. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p. m. prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be either at the home of Jerry and Sarah Wilson, 322 Cross Mountain Road or at the home of Sue Shupe, 310 Dotson Lane, Apt 17 or Kenneth Mains, 310 Dotson Lane, Apt. 5, Mountain City.
