Billy Ray Nye

Billy Ray Nye, age 62, of 830 North Church Street, Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2004 after a long battle with Lou Gerigh's Disease. He was born May 18, 1941 to the late Charlie and Pearl Rash Nye. Billy was a former employee of Timberland, where he was employed for 27 years. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents Lee and Nellie Nye and Frank and Rosa Rash. He is survived by his wife of 44 years; Janie Lucille Nye of the home, two sons; Danny Nye and wife Linda and Gary L. Nye and wife Kim, all of Mountain City, Tennessee, four grandsons; Gary E. Nye, Travis Nye, Donnie Nye, all of Mountain City, Tennessee, and Dustin Nye of North Carolina, one granddaughter; Nicole Conway of Ohio, several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and family pet poodle-Tina. Funeral Services for Billy will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Clyde Campbell to officiate. Family will receive friends 2-3:00 p.m. Prior to Services on Saturday. Graveside Services will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, Tennessee. Active Pallbearers will be Jim Widener, Bill Taylor, Roy Dowell, Bill Dowell, Bruce McGlamery, Jarrett Wilson, Sam Wilson and Sam Rutter. Honorary Pallbearers are Howard Owens, Bruce Dowell, Dr. Boutros, Adventa Hospice, Rev. Doug Ramshaw, Butler Dowell, Edgar Dowell, John R. Phillips, Billy Ray Rash, Johnny Phillips, Rolce Cook, Perry Baines and David Robinson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lou Gerigh's Foundation. At other times, friends may call at the home of Janie Lucille Nye, 830 North Church Street, Mountain City, Tennessee.
