Billy D Taylor

January 25, 1946 — April 17, 2024

Billy D. Taylor, age 78, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the Mountain City Care Center.  He was born January 25, 1946 to the late Louis J. Taylor and Gladys Taylor.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Taylor and brother, Kenny Taylor.
Billy was president of UAW and was a member of Pleasant View Christian Church.  He enjoyed playing music, especially bluegrass.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, those left to cherish his memory include, his daughter, Tamula Taylor Camp of Madison, Alabama; step- daughter, Buffy Wachman of Madison, Alabama; step- son, Anthony McCure of Madison, Alabama; brothers, Louis Taylor of Texas and Carl Taylor of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister- in -law, Debbie Reed of Damascus, Virginia; brother-in-law, Kenny Lowe of Johnson City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Logan Delp, Cierra Carle and Sutton Carle;  several nieces and nephews and all of his buddies that he played bluegrass with.
Funeral service for Billy will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 4 pm in the Buford Lipford Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Gary Bowman officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3 pm - 4 pm prior to the service.  Graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tom Dickens, Bob Taylor, Johnny Dickens, Bob Horne, Jim McGinnis and Mike Austin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Koty Norris, Tom Isaacs and Jack Proffitt.
