Bonnie Owens

Bonnie Owens, age 92, 303 Dotson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 23, 2004. A native of Mountain City, Tennessee, she was born on July 5, 1912 to the late Dave M. Payne and Effie Cal Dona Jones Payne. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Lou Owens; one sister, Stella Simcox; one brother, Clay Payne. She was a member of Roans Creek Baptist Church. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Howard D. Owens, of the home; two sisters, Della Vanover of Mountain City, TN and Blanche Greer of Little Brittan, Maryland; two brothers, Elmer Payne and Jim Payne, both of Mountain City, TN. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Bonnie will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Wilson to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Tommy Payne, Jerry Payne, Bill Payne, Ralph Vanover, Larry Payne, Billy Payne, Steve Roark and Dan Roark. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Blake Atwood, Jeff Miller, Earl Payne, Paul Payne, Bob Heck, Loyd Parker, Junior Greer, O.H. Wilson Jr. and Staff of Housecall. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to Services, at the Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
