Bonnie Barnell Spivey

Bonnie Barnell Spivey, age 73, of Mountain City, passed away Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at her residence after a long illness.

Bonnie was a native of Savannah, Georgia. She was the daughter of Angus Wallace Cook and Beatrice Hendrix Cook. She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan F. Sommers; brother, Ralph T. Cook and his wife, Debbie; sister, Linda D. Willis; daughters, Vicki Boger, Gina Lee and Lisa O'Connell; her son, Melvin “Bubba” Lee; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews and her special friends in her Sunrise Quilt Guild also survive.

A funeral service for Bonnie will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 4:00 pm at First Christian Church in Mountain City, Tennessee to celebrate her life and homecoming with Jesus with Dwayne Dickson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until the service hour.  She will be taken back to her hometown of Savannah, Georgia to be laid to rest at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Friday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 am with Matt Travis officiating.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Boger, Cameron Boger, Lee Mobley, Jordan Lee, Noah Lee and John Anderson.
