Bruce Pardue, age 71, of 412 Dotson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away August 17, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Pardue was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee and was born April 17, 1932 to the late Robert F. and Ollie Tester Pardue. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Jeffery Pardue, four brothers; Walt Pardue, Hugh Pardue, Shelton Pardue and Paul Pardue and one sister; Lucille Dunn. Bruce was retired from Burlington, a past member of the Johnson County Rescue Squad, had sang for several years in a Gospel Quartet, enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, loved music and Shelties. He was a member of the Dyson Grove Baptist Church and Choir. Survivors include his wife; Helen Potter Pardue (3) Daughters: Robin Kurtz, Mountain City, Tennessee Rita Mitchell, Hiddenite, North Carolina Debbie Rector, Taylorsville, North Carolina (1) Son: Bob Pardue, Mountain City, Tennessee (2) Sister: Maude Lee Arnold, Mountain City, Tennessee Irene Pardue, Mountain City, Tennessee (1) Brother: Ulysses Pardue, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania (6) Grandchildren: Austin Kurtz, Chance Kurtz, Becky Bonsor, Holly Phillips, Brian Mitchell and Scotty Mitchell (1) Great Grandson: Chase Phillips Several Nieces and Nephews. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Bruce Pardue, age 71, of 412 Dotson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 20, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Fletcher to officiate. Music will be conducted by the Fletcher Family. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. prior to services. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003 from the Rainbow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee. Friends may also call at the residence anytime.
