Candace Ann Copeland

Candace Ann Phelps-Copeland age 43, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at 1:48 a.m. on September 21, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. When she left this world, she was surrounded by the immense love of her family, with her sister/mother-figure Joann, her sister Glory, her brother-in-law Ben Arledge, and her fiancé Kevin Collins closely by her side.

Candace was born on May 28, 1983. She was an active memberf of Walnut Grove  Baptist Church.  A woman of deep Christian faith, she brought light and warmth into the lives of everyone who knew her. Candace was incredibly proud of her Native American bloodline and was deeply connected to her ancestry, carrying a profound respect for her heritage, her family, and the earth. This connection beautifully shone through in her creativity, as she was exceptionally talented in arts, crafts, and traditional Native American arts.She also had a vibrant passion for the outdoors and embraced everything about the outdoor life. Whether she was barrel racing, out fishing, or simply enjoying nature, she found true joy in the world God created around her. She will be remembered for her spirit, her kindness, and the profound love she shared with her fiancé, siblings, godchildren, and extended family.

She is survived by her devoted fiancé, Kevin Collins; her sisters, Joann, Jennifer Hernandez, Jennifer K., and Glory; her brother-in-law, Ben Arledge; her half-brother, Chris Phelps; her half-sister, Elizabeth Phelps; her aunt, Shirley; and her beloved godchildren, Maddison Greenberg, Cheyanne Harrop, Jacob Arledge, and Mia McGee, alongside a host of cherished family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

A Celebration of Life Service for Candace will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Russ Poteet to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the service begins.
