Obituary for Capriece Cole Howard: Capriece Howard, age 83, of 527 Hwy 91, Shady Valley, TN passed away December 22, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Edger P. Cole and Lena Blevins Cole. She was a native of Shady Valley and a former school teacher in the Johnson County School System. She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1947 and was also a graduate of ETSU. Capriece loved sewing, quilting, gardening, and studying her bible. She was very active in her church, Shady Valley Presbyterian. She also took part in the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Cranberry Scholarship Committee in Shady Valley. Survivors include: Husband of 63 years: Earl Howard of Shady Valley, TN Sons and daughter in-law: Earl B. "Erby" Howard Jr. and Dianna of Shady Valley, TN Jeffrey C.Howard of Shady Valley, TN Brother and sister in-law: John Cole and Diane of Shady Valley, TN Grandchildren: Tuesday Howard Pope, Joseph Howard, and Cole Howard Two Great Grandchildren: Gavin and Briden Pope and several nieces and nephews Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m.on Thursday, December 23, 2010 from the Shady Valley Presbyterian Church in Shady Valley, TN. Dr. Tom Peak and Rev. Jack Stevens will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. To 7:00p.m.prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:00a.m.Friday, December 24, 2010 at Shady Valley Memorial Gardens in Shady Valley. Pallbearers will be Terry Anderson, Terry Peters, J.L. Hamby, Dick Righter, George Brown, Roger Miller, and David Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers are Curtis Sluder, Dr. Peter Haibach, and George Triplett, Members of the Shady Valley Presbyterian Church, Shady Valley Volunteer Fire Dept. and Johnson County Rescue Squad. Friends may call at the residence at 527 Highway 91, Shady Valley, TN. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Shady Valley Fire Dept. or the Johnson County Rescue Squad.
