Carl W. Brown, age 86, of 2107 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City Tennessee passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Brown was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee and was born December 15, 1916 to the late Eugene and Ethel Brown. He was preceded in death by his Step-Mother Flossie Brown, infant daughter Peggy Joann Brown, three infant sisters, Snowy Lee Brown, Elizabeth Brown and Ruby Grace Brown, and two brothers, Herbert Brown and Howard Brown. He was a retired farmer, painter, an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include: His wife Maggie Brown, of the home (1) Son: Willie Gene Brown and wife Nancy, Mountain City, TN (2) Sisters: Dorothy Brown, Mountain City, TN Faye Thomas, Mountain City, TN (2) Granddaughters: Debbie Harmon, Mountain City, TN Deena Icenhour and husband Sam, Mountain City, TN (3) Great Grandchildren: Ashlee Harmon, Mountain City, TN Connor Icenhour, Mountain City, TN Samuel Icenhour, Mountain City, TN Several Nieces and Nephews. Henson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Carl W. Brown will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Denney and Pastor Albert Bentley to officiate. Music will be conducted by the Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church Choir. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 from the Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Lowe, Burman Maine, Roger Price, Clarence Braden, Kay Brown and Robert Price. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nelson Chapel Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class, Woodrow McElyea and Ross Dowell. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m.Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church prior services. Family and Friends are asked to meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church to go in procession to the Brown Cemetery.. Friends may also call at the residence at anytime.
