Mr. Thomas Carl Bryant, age 70, of 5833 Hwy 421 S, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, October 3, 2009 at his residence. He was son of the late Sam and Beulah Rosalee Michaels Bryant. Carl was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Besides being a great husband, father, and grand-father to everyone.He was retired from Maymead quarry after employment of fifty-two years.

 

Survivors include his wife: Betty Phipps Bryant of the home; his daughter Carla Jean Harper and husband Robert; his sons: Douglas Bryant and wife Lesia; Rick Bryant and wife Wilma; Leon Bryant and wife Debbie; Dennis Bryant and wife Amy; and Darien Bryant and wife April all of Mountain City, Tennessee. Carl also left behind nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grand children, one sister: Ann McElyea and husband Lewis, one brother: Burl Bryant and wife Joyce all of Mountain City, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends include Paul Barr, John Lowe and many others. His favorite dogs “Bimbo” and “Butch” will miss him greatly.

 

Funeral Services for Carl will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009 from the memory chapel at Teague Funeral Home, with his son Leon Bryant and Clyde Campbell to officiate. Active Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Toby Bryant, Jason Bryant, Josh Bryant, Cody Bryant, Billy Bryant, D J Bryant, Dalton Bryant and Dustin Bryant. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Mains, Tim Larkin, Kenny Ray Wilson, Rick Mahala and Bobby Potter. Entombment will be conducted Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mausoleum of Love at Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
