Carl C. Morefield

Carl C. Morefield, age 72, of 651 McEwen Road, Mountain City, TN went to be with the Lord on  Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in Pine Ridge Care Center in Elizabethton, TN. He was a son of the late Elbert Morefield and Hazel Forrester Morefield. He was a member of Heath Union Church in Mountain City. Carl loved singing and playing his guitar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Morefield.

 

Survivors include: one sister: Muriel Payne and husband John of Mountain City, TN; one brother: Ray Morefield and wife Dot of Mountain City, TN; one niece, Tammy Morefield, of Mountain City, TN; three nephews: Spencer Ray Payne, John Douglas Payne and Freddie Joe Morefield, all of Mountain City, TN; and special friends, Blanche Hodge and “That Boy”.

 

Funeral services for Carl C. Morefield will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux~Lipford~Teague Funeral Home with Chaplain Scott Greene officiating. A committal service will follow the funeral service in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel. Interment will be held at l:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 in Lewis-Forrester Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Dave Guinn, Doug Payne, Spencer Payne, Carroll Chappell, Robert Forrester and Wetzel Forrester. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Pine Ridge Care Center, Dr. May and Dr. Digby. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
