Carl Roten

We are saddened to announce the passing of Carl Roten, age 85, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Ashe Memorial Hospital. He was born June 7, 1935 to the late George and Mettie Miller Roten. He was a member of Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Roten; two sisters Ada Woods and Viola; three brothers Earl Roten, Ard Miller and Albert Roten.

Survivors include one son: Mike Roten and wife Janie of Creston, NC; two grandsons: Codie and Tobie Tucker and one granddaughter Hannah Roten; several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.

Funeral services for Carl Roten will be conducted Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Darrell Graybeal officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Roten Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers for many years at New River Tree Company and Walbert Farmer.

At other times friends may call at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Janie Roten, 1691 Roaring Fork Road, Creston, NC.
