Carliss Jean White, age 56, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, gained her reward after a courageous battle with cancer. Carliss was born in Elizabethton, TN on September 6, 1962, to the late Carl Edward White and Christene Gentry Fletcher. In addition to her parents, Carliss is preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Carver.
Carliss was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jonesborough, TN. She enjoyed shopping, Snapchat and Facebook to pass her time. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Carliss’ love and memory will live on in those she has left behind. Those left to remember Carliss are her daughters Michelle Vanover and husband Johnny, Elizabeth Green and husband Nicholas all of Elizabethton, TN, Nancy Main of Trade, TN, and McKayla Francis of Jonesborough, TN; a brother Charlie White; sisters Pam Buchanan and Ruth Smith; 6 grandchildren that she adored; several nieces and nephews and her special friend Larry Rudder, Christian and Jason Daily.
Funeral services for Carliss will be conducted at 7 pm on Monday, April 29, 2019, in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 pm – 7 pm prior to the service with Pastor Scott Knight to officiate.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Fletcher, Johnnie Vanover, Nicholas Green, and Charlie White.
