Carlton R. Hughes, Sr.

Carlton R. Hughes, Sr., age 68, of 805 Rhea Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Johnson County Health Center. A native of New Jersey, he was born on October 25, 1936 to the late Samuel Myers and Lucy Davis Hughes. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and had retired from Dupont Industries in Deepwater, NJ. He enjoyed woodworking and loved gardening. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hughes, of the home; two daughters: Tami Baker and husband Martin, Mountain City; Kelly Hyson and husband Paul, New Hampshire; one son, Carlton Hughes, Jr. and wife Kim, Jonesborough, TN; one sister, Carol Gardener, Vermont; one brother, Donald Hughes, Florida; four grandchildren: Alec Baker, Venture Baker, Logan Hughes, and Kendra Hughes; nieces and nephews also survive. Private inurnment services will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the residence, 805 Rhea Road, Mountain City, TN 37683, at anytime.
