Carolyn Roberts

Carolyn Roberts, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away at her residence, on July 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on March 3, 1943, in Johnson County, Tennessee, Carolyn lived a life marked by her sweet disposition and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Carolyn was a graduate of Johnson County High School, Her commitment to her family was evident throughout her life. She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Delmer "Sonny" Roberts.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Sonny; two sons, Michael Roberts (Sonya) of Georgia and John Roberts (Christine) of Maryland. A grandmother to Tyler Roberts, Madison Roberts, and Austin Roberts. In addition, Carolyn is remembered by several nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friends from the Ladies of the Order of Eastern Star; special niece, Karen Gregg and special friend, Brenda Johnson.

Her proudest accomplishments reflect her deep commitment to her community and faith. Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Daughters of American Resolution, and Order of Eastern Star, where she forged lasting connections rooted in service and fellowship.

Despite facing loss in her life, including her parents, John McElyea and Viola Christie McElyea, her grandson Conor Roberts, and two brothers, John McElyea and Erwin McElyea, Carolyn remained a source of light for those around her.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held at a later date.
