Carrie Lee Morley

Carrie Lee Morley, age 94, of Shady Valley, TN passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at home surrounded by her children. A native of Johnson County, TN, Carrie was born on May 28, 1920 to the late Frank and Mary M. (Parker) Riddle. Carrie was a member of the Shady Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Morley; a son, Leon and a daughter, Barbara; seven sisters: Mary Currell, Constance Robinson, Hassie Oliver, Blanch Sammons, Pearl Osborne, Mae Gentry Sammons, and Ray Dell Osborne; three brothers: Oscar Riddle, Fred Riddle, and Burl Riddle, and grandson Tim Morley. Carrie is survived by sons: Lester, Lonnie, and Kermit and wife Alice Morley of Shady Valley, TN, Jim and wife Brenda of Cartersville, GA; Kenneth and wife Paula Morley of Jonesborough, TN; daughters: Brenda, Linda and husband Lester Garland of Shady Valley, TN, Louise and husband Walter Ackermann of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons: James, Tad and wife Janet, Matthew and wife Tkeitha , Daniel Morley, and Chris Mullins; granddaughters; Jennifer and Stephanie Morley and Joanie and Chris Wilson; great granddaughters and great grandsons, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shady Valley Fire Department c/o Conley Gentry, 340 Walker Road, Shady Valley, TN 37688. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Raina Sluder, Daniel Jones, P.A., and the Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care for the care given to their mother. A receiving of friends will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Johnson County Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Tom Peake and Reverend James Morley officiating. Graveside service and interment will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 following services from the Reece Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tad Morley, Daniel Morley, Chris Mullins, Matthew Morley, Chris Wilson, Todd Harris, Jenny Morley, and Stephanie Harris.
