Carrie Taylor

Ms. Carrie Taylor, age 101, of 4585 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Watauga Medical Center, Boone, NC. She was born August 10, 1911 to the late Bynam Payne and Olive Hammons Payne. Ms. Taylor was a member of Hammons Chapel Christian Church. She loved quilting, gardening and her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Huber Taylor; and two sisters: Elise Mae Payne Nichols and Freida Payne. Survivors include: two sons: John Taylor and wife Sharon of Knoxville, TN and James Taylor, Sr. and wife Joan of New Castle, DE; one sister: Lucy Payne of Mountain City, TN; one brother: Earl Payne and wife Stella of Mountain City, TN; four grandchildren: Richard Taylor and wife Carol of Severna Park, MD; Robert Taylor and wife Jamie of Maryville, TN; Kathleen Taylor of Bear, DE and James Taylor, Jr. of New Castle, DE; four great grandchildren:Lindsey Taylor, Harrison Taylor, Jillian Taylor and Mayra Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and special niece June Martin of San Antonio, TX. Funeral services for Ms. Carrie Taylor will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Joshia Giddings and Mr. Mike Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from Hammons Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. At other times friends may call at the residence 4585 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN.
