Cathline Dare Greenwell, age 75, of 1661 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tennessee after a brief illness. She was born April 20, 1932 to the late Tine and Elsie Guy Greenwell. She was a resident of Carter County for 25 years. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where she was baptized but had attended the First Church of God for the last 20 years of her life where Jerry Carver was the preacher. Her sister in Christ and good friend was Mary Lou Richardson. Also a good close friend to her was Donna Hopkins. She leaves behind several family members: two beloved brothers: Joe Greenwell and Marty Greenwell; several beloved sisters: Sue Ward, Goldie Gregg, Lynda Hatley, Gloria Greenwell, Charlene Clawson and one very special caretaker and beloved sister, Beth Smith. She also leaves behind special beloved brothers-in-law: James Smith, Harold Hatley, Marvin Clawson; one very special aunt, Lizzy Stansberry with whom she always kept in touch: special nieces and nephews: Amanda ward, Emily Francisco, Melissa Greenwell, Brandon Greenwell, Lacey Greenwell, Savannah Greenwell, Zachary Greenwell, Coty Greenwell, Chad Greenwell and Martin Greenwell; special great nieces and nephews: Kandrea White, Adam Ward, David Aaron Francisco, and Cassidy Francisco. Her hobbies were listening to gospel music, going to church, and reading her Bible. Funeral services for Cathline Dare Greenwell will be conducted Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel at Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Greene and Rev. Jerry Carver officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the services. Graveside service and interment will be Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Dugger Cemetery. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hodge, Harold Hatley, Brandon Greenwell, Martin Greenwell, Michael Reece and Gary White. Honorary pallbearers will be Lyle Wolfe, Joe Greenwell, Marty Greenwell and Herb Harra. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Sycamore Shoals Hospital Third Floor Staff, Pine Ridge Nursing Home Staff and Dr. James Shipley.
