Charles "Buck" Blevins

Charles "Buck" Rector Blevins Sylacauga, AL. - Charles "Buck" Rector Blevins, age 86, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Buck was an Air Force Veteran and a good Christian man. He was a loving husband and father. He never missed his son's football games. Buck was a member of the lost tribe of the Melungeon. Charles grew up in the mountains on Northeast Tennessee and was known for hunting rabbit and always helping his neighbors. He worked hard at every occupation: mining, farming, logging or chasing wild honey bees. Charles Blevins was a beloved member of the Sylacauga Church of Christ. He was never late for anything. He was always an hour early waiting for the doors to open for worship. Buck is survived by his wife of 65 years, Delores Blevins; his children, C. Michael and Kristie J. Blevins, Brenda and Neil Thompson, Linda and Keith Arnett, Timothy Parker Blevins and Carol Ware; ten grandchildren, Bradley Arnett (Sydney), Craig Arnett (Monica), Lindsey Pearce (Zach), Brittney Langdon (Andrew), Kelsey Smith (Jacob), McKenzie Blevins, Sarah H. Serif, Isabelle Blevins, C. Will Blevins, and Parker Charles Blevins; eight great grandchildren, Tinsley Pearce, Benjamin Arnett, Charley Arnett, Caroline Arnett, Tucker Pearce, Callie Mae Arnett, Parker Grace Pearce and Lily Sue Langdon; two sisters, Mary Easter Cornett, Becky Spencer (Jim); brother, Jack Blevins; and brother-in-law Kenny McQueen. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Todd Blevins, and his parents, Dearl and Lillian Blevins. A visitation for Buck will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150 with C. Michael Blevins officiating the service. Buck will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150. Serving as pallbearers are Bradley Arnett, Craig Arnett, C. Will Blevins, Parker Charles Blevins, Zach Pearce, Andrew Langdon, Jacob Smith and Kenneth W. McQueen.
