Charles E. Fenner, age 66, of 205 Dillon Road, Mountain City, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, after a brief illness. Charlie was a retired County Commissioner, where he served the County for 24 years. He was also a Charter Member of the Johnson County Rescue Squad. He was retired from Levi Strauss & Co, where he worked for over 30 years. Charlie loved farming and was a huge UT Fan and loved Tennessee Football and Lady Vols Basketball. Most of all he loved spending time with his 9 Grandchildren. Charlie was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Friend to many. He was a Member of Bethany Baptist Church, Mountain City. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maude Fenner and his wife, Judy Fenner. Survivors include: Three daughters: Tammie Fenner of Mountain City Cindy Fritts and husband Troy of Orange Park, Florida Kelli Sluder and husband Kenny of Shady Valley, TN Two sons: Blake Fenner and wife Chanda of Mountain City Mike Fenner and wife Sherrie of Mountain City A very Special Friend and companion for over 15 years, Margaret Roberts Charlie better know as Papaw, was most proud of his grandchildren, Lacey and Courtney Fritts, Tyler and Payton Fenner, Colton and Eden Fenner, Kamryn, Kayla and Kyle Sluder. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p. m. Friday, April 13, 2007 from the Central Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Thomason and Bro Leonard Fletcher. Music will be under the direction of Fletcher family and Mrs Brenda Arnold, Pianist. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a. m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 from the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tom Fortune, Glenn Painter, Mike Penley, Harry Walsh, Kenneth Sluder, Scotty Eller. Gary Roberts and Pat Conville. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Earl Shull, George Lowe, John Lowe, Percy Matherly and Members of the Doe Valley Sportsman Association. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p. m. Friday at the Central Baptist Church prior the funeral services. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Compassionate Nurses that cared for their Father in the ICU Unit of Johnson City Medical Center but mostly they thank The Lord for never leaving them or forsaking them during these trying times.
