Charles “Doug” Icenhour, age 64, of 1089 Berry Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Johnson County community hospital. Doug was on the Board of Directors of the Cold Springs Utility District, and a former Johnson County Commissioner. He truly enjoyed fishing, rock collecting and absolutely loved his grandchildren. He served in the United States Army as a Tank mechanic, serving during the Vietnam Era. He is the son of Luther Icenhour and the late Ruth Woodard Icenhour.

 

Survivors include his wife Debra Widner Icenhour of the home: Two sons; Douglas Icenhour and wife Chrissy; and Chris Thomas and wife Tracy, both of Mountain City, Tennessee. Four sisters; Helen Icenhour Dugger, Betty Jean Icenhour Warren, Peggy Icenhour Horne and husband Jerry, Carol Icenhour Proffitt and husband Tim, all of Mountain City, Tennessee: One brother Joseph Luther “Joe” Icenhour and wife Sandy of Mountain City, Tennessee: His three wonderfull grandchildren Sydnie Icenhour, Josh and Charlie Thomas all of Mountain City, Tennessee. Doug’s former wife Helen Phillips Icenhour and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was loved by so many in Johnson County that there are too many special friends to name individually.

 

Visitation services for Doug will be conducted at Teague Funeral Home on Monday, December 21, 2009 from the Memorial Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Frank Stanley and Pastor R. D. Watson to officiate. Military Honors and Rites will be conducted in the Veterans Administration Mountain Home Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. accorded by The Johnson County Honor Guard.  Active Pallbearers will be: Douglas Icenhour, Chris Thomas, Russell Powell, David Icenhour, John Forrester, Rick Mahala.  Honorary Pallbearers will be; Roby Dunn, Danny Herman, Bill Icenhour, Tom Icenhour and Dean Stout.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church C/O  of AWANA Program, 1354 Cold Springs Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.

At other times friends may call at the residence, 1089 Berry Branch Road, Mountain City, TN at any time.
