Charlotte Sue Lunceford, age 75, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 11, 2008. She passed away at her residence after a lengthy illness. Ms. Lunceford was the daughter of the late Tillman H. Grindstaff and the late Estella Pierce Grindstaff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joann Courtner, and one brother, Ray H. Grindstaff.
She was a member of Piercetown Baptist Church and her hobbies included gardening and visiting friends and neighbors.
Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, William S. Lunceford, of the home; three sons: Roy W. Lunceford and wife Kylene of Elizabethton, Tennessee; Terry L Lunceford and wife Brenda of Johnson City, Tennessee, and William "Ray" Lunceford and wife Christine of Unicoi, Tennessee; two sisters: Linda Stanton Reed and husband Earl of Butler, Tennessee and Nell Seaboch of Elizabethton, Tennessee; one brother, Glenn Grindstaff; ten grandchildren: Amanda Lunceford, Elizabeth Lunceford, Melinda Campbell, Christina Delaney, Bobby Filler, Sylvia Lunceford, Roy Lee Lunceford, Ann Marie Lunceford, and William Lunceford; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Charlotte Sue Lunceford will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 from Piercetown Baptist Church with Rev. Harvey White and Rev. Dennis Peterson officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in Butler Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Donnie Campbell, Roy Lee Lunceford, Robert Allen Arnett, Robert Arnett, Michael Bijolle and Darren Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Necessary, Danny Fields, William Lunceford, Christopher Freeman and Sammy Delaney.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
At other times friends may call at the residence 742 Pine Orchard Road, Butler, Tennessee at any time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte Lunceford Memorial Fund, %Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, 300 West Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
