Chloe Roberts

Chloe Roberts, age 80, 661 Slabtown Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. She was born May 14, 1931 to the late Sherman Dean Lowe and Evelyn Watson Lowe. Chloe was a faithful and dedicated member of Doe Valley Baptist Church. Her hobbies included crocheting and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Dale "Jack" Roberts; three brothers: Roger, John and L.D. Lowe and one sister: Gloria Gay Lowe. Survivors include: one daughter: Colleen Proffitt and husband Kenneth of Mountain City, TN; brother: Paul Lowe and wife Bea of Butler, TN; grandson: Kevin Proffitt of Mountain City, TN; great granddaughter: Lindsey Proffitt of Mountain City, TN and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Hazel Roberts and Ilene Roberts also survive. Funeral services for Chloe Roberts will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 from Doe Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Perkins and Rev. Gary Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Lowe Cemetery with Rev. Roy Dowell officiating. Active pallbearers will be Don Roberts, Rob Isaacs, and men of Doe Valley Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be J.C. Greene, Bill Hayden and Warner Eller. At other times friends may call at the home of the daughter, 845 Slabtown Road, Mountain City, TN or at the home of the brother, Paul Lowe, Pine Orchard Road, Butler, TN.
