Cleo Ruth Colson, age 88, of 111 Shupe Hollow Road, Mountain City passed away, Wednesday January 7, 2004, in the Erwin Health Care Center. She was a native of Johnson County and was Born December 23, 1915 to the late Roscoe and Alice Potter Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Craig Colson, who died in 1998 also by (1) sister, Blanche Stout, And (2) brothers, Earl Perkins and Hartley Potter. She was a Homemaker, who loved to crochet, quilt and garden. She was a Member of the Vaughts Gap Baptist Church. Survivors: (2) Sons: Tom Colson and wife, Eula, Mountain City Darrel Colson and wife, Karen, Mountain City (2) Sisters: Ruby Slemp, Mountain City Doris Hughes, Beltsville, Maryland (2) Brothers: Eddie Perkins, Mountain City Shelton Perkins, Mountain City (2) Grandchildren: Angie Colson Skinner, Lakeland, Florida Kevin Colson, Mountain City (2) Great Grandchildren: Kaylea Skinner and Mason Skinner Several Nieces and Nephews also survived Henson Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Cleo Ruth Colson, age 88, of 111 Shupe Hollow Road, Mountain City Will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Johnson and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Burial will be in the Hodge Cemetery Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church The family will receive Friends from 10:00 A. M. till 11:00 A. M.
