Clifford Wayne Parsons

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Clifford Wayne Parsons passed away on February 15th, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born on June 25th, 1948 in Mountain City, Tennessee to the late Roderick Filmore Parsons and the late Etta Mae (Payne) Parsons.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, working in his garden and sharing the bounty with friends and family. He attended Mountain City Presbyterian Church he also enjoyed spending time at the Mountain City Senior Center. Mr. Parsons retired from Broyhill Furniture Factory in Lenoir, North Carolina.

Mr. Parsons was proceeded in death by his brother-in-laws Donald Joseph McDermott and John Thomas McPherson Sr. and by his niece Jennifer Jean McPherson and nephews Roger Glenn Parsons, Jr. and Anthony Ray McPherson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his Aunt Magdalene Anthony, Three brothers Roger Glenn Parsons Sr. (Shirley), James Edward Parsons (Debra) and Daniel Ray Parsons (Darleena Kaye) and his three sisters Jane Warren (Jeff), Norma Jean McPherson,Mary Ann McDermott also numerous nephews,nieces and cousins.

A funeral service for Mr. Parsons will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Playl of the Mountain City Presbyterian Church to officiate. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. A private burial will be at Reece Memorial Cemetery in Mountain City, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be his nephews Joseph McDermott, Nathaniel McDermott, Daniel Horrell, Thomas Freeman, Collin Parsons and Frank Horn Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are his nephews John McPherson Jr., Roderick Cornette, Donald Cornette, Bradley Parsons, Nathan Creger and Stephen Hagen.

In lieu of gifts or flowers the family requests donations to be sent to VFW Post 6908 179 Depot St. Mountain City, TN 37683.
